BROTHERS IN ARMS
Brothers in Arms
There are a number of key components that make Fiji’s Rugby 7s team so exceptional, but perhaps one of the most important is their shared faith, practised multiple times in the day through Lotu, a harmonious prayer that translates to ‘Religion’.
In this clip, we join the team’s morning Lotu at sunrise on the lawns of Canford School in England. We also hear from several members of the team, including world player of the decade, Jerry Tuwai, as they express why the Lotu and faith is so important to their success.
FIJI Vs BRITISH ARMY
Fiji vs British Army
Fiji 7s take on the British Army 7s team in what should be a mouth-watering match-up. But such is the gulf in class, Fiji’s target objective was to not allow the Army to score any tries across 4 energy-sapping quarters.
Ben Gollings, acting as ref and coach, mic’d up throughout the game, offers a fascinating, all-access insight.
FIJI TIME
Fiji Time
After a while, of spending some time with the team in making this documentary, the title to the show became obvious.
We’ll leave it to Head Coach, Ben Gollings, to explain…
BEHIND THE SCENES
Behind the Scenes
A rare venture to the front of the camera for exec producer, Justin Perkins, chatting to colleague and our resident performance expert, Simon Hartley, about the inspiration behind the making of the documentary.
BUS MUSIC – OUTTAKE
Bus Music
Not all of our footage made it to the final cut. Reviewing this piece, I’m starting to question why it didn’t make the final cut.
There’s nothing spectacular about it. I just love the humility of this team – some of the world’s best athletes, and certainly its best rugby 7s players, humbly traveling to their away day in what looks like a junior school mini bus.
